The PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) Training course provides construction workers, supervisors, and site managers with the knowledge to ensure that electrical equipment used on site is safe and compliant with UK regulations. Following HSE guidance and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, this course explains why regular inspection and testing of portable appliances is essential to prevent electrical shocks, burns, and fire hazards.

Learners will gain an understanding of the principles of PAT testing, visual checks, formal inspections, and the role of competent persons in carrying out tests. The course also highlights record-keeping requirements and the importance of removing unsafe equipment from use. By the end, participants will be able to contribute to a safer working environment by ensuring that electrical appliances are properly maintained and fit for purpose.
