DSEAR Training for Construction

The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) 2002 are designed to protect people from the risks of fire, explosion, and similar incidents when working with hazardous substances. Many everyday substances used in construction and industry—such as fuels, solvents, gases, and even dusts—can create explosive atmospheres if not properly managed. This course explains what DSEAR requires and how to apply its principles to keep workplaces safe.

Through this training, you will learn how to identify dangerous substances, assess the risks they pose, and put in place suitable control measures. You’ll also understand the importance of classification, labelling, safe storage, and emergency procedures. By following HSE guidance, you’ll gain the knowledge needed to comply with DSEAR and reduce the risks of serious incidents in the workplace.
