This Banksman Training course is designed to provide the knowledge and practical awareness required to guide and direct vehicles safely during reversing and manoeuvring operations. It is particularly relevant for those acting as a signaller or banksman to ensure they can communicate clearly with drivers and manage risks effectively.
Based on HSE guidance (including HSG136 and INDG199), the course covers key responsibilities of a banksman, effective hand signals, site traffic management, and the importance of clear communication to prevent collisions and protect workers. This training helps reduce the risk of serious accidents and supports compliance with legal duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated regulations.

You will need to get 4 out of 5 (80%) questions right. You will only be able to move on to the next section once you achieve this pass mark. You can re take the test as many times as you need.
This course has been certified by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to the universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Guidelines. On successful completion, you can download and print your certificates from your dashboard.
